Advice ladies? I am dying....throwing up at least 3 or 4 times a day. I had some prescription, but got with a new doctor and can't get more RX until he can see me which wont be for 3 more weeks. Wahoo, I love hugging the toilet all day! Someone said to suck on some candy or Popsicles? Other Ideas? I'm constantly starving, but don't want to eat because the second I eat, it comes right back up! What have you guys done, or what do you do that helps? And goodness, when does everything stop smelling one million times stronger. Does that ever go away in the 9 months. Half the time, that is what sends me to the toilet. I smell something such as dinner from the night before still lingering in the house. Somehow (I can't imagine why) Corby can't smell it, but I am leaning over the toilet cause it smells so strong. Ha I love this! =) Joys of womanhood right!!!

it normally goes away after the first trimester so hang in there! saltine or graham crackers worked for me. you can also get bay leaves from the store and boil them to make a very subtle tea. that helps the stomach. good luck and let me know if there is anything else i can do! :) love ya!
Everyone is SO diff with it, but for me, I had to find the things that smelled strong (meat, most veggies, some fruit....) and keep them OUT of the house. No ginger teas or sodas did much for me, but if I had saltines or mellow pringles around to munch on it always helped to keep someting like that in my stomach.
What I found is that if I didn't get something like bread/crackers in my stomach first thing in the morning the day was kinda shot... After throwing up once it was a bad day all day.
I really hope you start feeling better SOON. It is so hard, but SO worth it. And it is weird, cause I already have forgotten how bad it was!
You are going to be a GREAT mom!
nope, the smelling thing doesn't go away! try sucking on pepermit candies, that helped me. sorry charlie!
Poor thing!!! I was pretty sick too - nothing really helped, I didnt even get meds cause I was scared to take them...but I got some cinnimon gum and chewed it like CRAZY the smell and taste was stronger than everything else...it was magical for me - maybe it would be for you too??? Just remember, it will end!
I did the same thing with Camryn. Here is what I learned - only eat things that taste "good" coming back up. Pancakes are a winner. Dairy is BAD. Most Veggies are BAD. Some fruit is okay. It needs to be soft and sort of sweet. As gross as that is . . . it kept me sane and not as grossed out because I would for sure puke up everything I ate. I realize it was not the healthiest way to eat . . but better than nothing.
I took the strongest meds they give, for about a week. Becuase I still felt sick, just stopped throwing up. I decided I would rather throw up and feel okay for 30 min. a handful of times a day than just feel the same crappy all day. Cinnamon and lemon drops (the candy) maybe helped a tiny bit.
Oh and I did not cook for about 6 months. (with cam it lasted 6 months, but with Kenzie only about the normal 18 weeks)
SO SORRY!! The kid is worth it though (I wondered at the worst of times) and CONGRATS . . . you will be a great mommy!!
katie! yeah i was totally sick until around 18 weeks sorry to say. jolly ranchers were life savers haha or come to think of it anything like that might help? smells were THE worst for me, i couldnt stand the smell of my house. honestly not much helped its just something you have to get through sorry to say :( but it does get so much better so dont you fret! the second trimester is awesome and you actually get to enjoy being pregnant. we should get together i'd love to see you!
way funny janna- I was told by a friend to try jolly ranchers too. She told me to suck on them all day long when or ever i was feeling nauseous and it really did help. Also make sure you keep saltines by your bed and when you wake up eat a few laying down in while your still in bed then let them sit for a few minutes before you get up for the day. I had to stay away from fruit and anything spicy like chinese or mexican. Oddly enough all the food that tasted good to me while being preggo where things that i normally wouldn't eat or want. try different foods everyone's different... gotta make yourself eat though, even if it's just a little and if it comes up. Ugh they joys of the 1st trimester. It'll get better. good luck gf. miss ya!call my anytime to chat!
