Learning to be Creatvie...

So, with the new year, Corby and I have made several new goals and we are trying to accomplish them all., but some definitely require reminders and creativity. One of those goals was we made was to have consistent Family Home Evening every week. We want to make this a habit especially for when we have kids. One evening, we were just up talking, and I had realized and said.. "we haven't done our FHE this week." Corby asked what we were going to do (implying that i was in charge).

Me: We need to start doing more spontaneous and creative things to make it more fun.

Corby: Like what?

Me: Have you ever heard of the pinewood derby? (of course he has)

Corby: (laughing) how would we do that, plus you would never have a chance against me.

Me: I would kill you... I made all my brothers for them when they were in scouts (of course I didn't mention that I only painted my brothers)

Corby: (just laughed at me)

**Then we had a moment of silence....

Me: I have a sweet idea!! Let's build a fort, lets make our entire bedroom into a giant fort.

Corby: smiling at me he asked:Why do you all of a sudden want to do all these crazy things?

Me: ignoring that questions I responded: Seriously Corby, lets build a fort.

Corby: ok, go grab all the extra blankets we have.

And so it was, we made our bedroom into a giant fort for FHE and we had our little lesson in the fort. Corby, (typically) got way into it, and was getting books and pillows and tucking things into our closet and drawers. I knew it would be a success. It was so much fun.

Life always seems to be a bit more fun when you let loose and be spontaneous and do "silly" fun things with your spouse.

I Love him so much. He has made the last 2 years of my life so much fun, the best 2 years of my life so far!!
